initial ideas research and development 

My initial ideas for this project were to look at cafes and libraries as the Carlisle is social poster, taking heavy inspiration from Carlisle's local cafes such as bob and berts, I love café and bookends café, connected to bookends as my initial ideas for a library themed poster.

Carlisle is industrial/ social 

For my first idea I wanted to do a tray of cookies, inspired by the Carlisle is industrial theme, with the main idea using Carlisles local Mcvities factory as inspiration, on the left is me experimenting with the different layouts on photoshop until l I finally settled onto a picnic style set out with a plate as the centre image.
I ended up using watercolour on paper to paint out all the cookies, then scanning in and editing them on photoshop and creating the background scene and plate on photoshop. I wanted an almost childish and cartoony style on this poster.

Improving on posters after feedback

Carlisle is resilient

I wanted to use photography in one of my posters to really take the opportunity its to experiment with filters and editing tools so I went into town and took photos of the local cathedral, taking the image into photoshop and using filters, and the brush tool to add detail and a different texture to the poster.

I really enjoyed the process of illustrator and wanted to continue using the software so I took some bug sketches from my sketchbook with the intention of creating more pin badges out of them.
Taking the sketches into photoshop first to clean up the lines and make them more visible 
Taking the photoshop document into illustrator I vectored and started working on colouring the image in different ways.
A collaborative poster side project with Scarlett that we created with a combination of analogue mediums and photoshop
